Manners maketh man. Do you know what that means? Then let me teach you a lesson – Kingsman: The Secret Service

After few weeks being absence from the cinema, I have finally step back in to watch Kingsman: The Secret Service.

I must say that I did not regret picking this film at all.
Most of the film that I have watched lately was really crappy. And finally this is a movie that I really enjoy watching.

Kingsman: The Secret Service is a story about a privately owned international secret agent that recruit young adults as part of their members. Eggsy’s (Taron Egerton) father was a secret agent until he was killed trying to safe his team mate. Harry Hart (Colin Firth) delivered a medal of bravery to Eggsy and told him that he can call the number written on the medal if he ever needs help.

Fastforward to seventeen years later, Eggsy finally used the number behind the medal to bail him out of jail. Harry helped with the process and recruited him as part of the secret service. From their they undergo some trainings which requires Eggsy and his team mate to work as a team. Others who are recruited to this secret service came from prestigious schools and highly look upon family, while Eggsy characterise as bogan. Training is overseen by Merlin (Mark Strong), a senior Kingsman. The candidates are eliminated one by one until Eggsy and Roxy (Sophie Cookson) emerge as the final two. However, Eggsy fails his final test, and Roxy becomes the new member of Kingsman.

During this time, Kingsman have been investigating Valentine (Samuel L. Jackson) in connection with the VIP disappearances. Harry tracked Valentine was killed on the process. Eggsy who was eliminated from Kingsman, reunite with Merlin and Roxy to save the world from massive culling of the human race.

What I love the most about this movie is the special effects. Lately blockbuster action movies have put too many CGI and special effects which makes the movie seems unreal. But for this one, they added just the right amount of effects to make the movie interesting. Not only that it was also used to represent the skills that were possessed by the spies and also to increase the humour in the film. During the final scene, viewers would be entertained by the use of special effects when the participants’ heads blew up like a fireworks.

Interestingly, there were not many female characters in this movie. But when they show the female characters, they were perceived as the more dominant characters like for example Roxy. Although we couldn’t she much of the capabilities in the beginning and was portrayed as timid (during the skydiving scene), but she was the one who managed to killed off her dogs for her last test. Not forgetting Valentine sidekick, Gazelle played by Sophia Boutella. Despite the fact that Gazelle wore prosthetic legs, but that legs can turn into blades which can be very handy during combat. These two girls are very empowering.

Kingsman: The Secret Service is a movie that you need to watch. It is a very simple movie that will definitely entertain the viewers.
